Savoury Scones
To me, English has always been a boring subject. Then, one day, our English teacher surprised us by telling us that for today's lesson we were going to bake scones. Even more interestingly, I had no clue what scones were. One taste was enough - scones are awesome! So, here is the recipe we made for English lessons!
Ingredients
3 cups self raising flour
3 pinches of salt
250ml cream
250ml milk
Grated cheese
Chopped celery
Chopped onion
Parsley
Grated carrot
Pepper and any other herbs you like
Instructions
Measure 3 cups of flour into a large bowl. Add 3 pinches of salt, cheese, herbs, celery, onion and parsley.
In a separate container, mix the cream and milk. Add these ingredients to the dry ingredients. Put lid on container and shake until combined.
Drop onto floured board. More flour may be added if dough is too sticky. Cut into rounds and place on baking paper close together.
Sprinkle with paprika.
Cook in 180-200 degree Celsius oven for 20-25 minutes.
